If you live in Turkey, you sure have heard a lot of the below phrases during your daily life. The most important part to mingle in a foreign society and be able to speak and communicate with its people is to learn the most used phrases and expressions.
Turkish language is no exception. The Turkish language consists of proverbs, phrases, and expressions that will help those living in Turkey or those who intend to move to Turkey to understand what is being said and in what situations these phrases, proverbs, and expressions are being used.
I have combined below Turkish phrases expressing Wishes and Prayers.
1- Allah Emanet Ol: Used when we say goodbye to our loved ones, entrusting one's loved ones to Allah, in a sense, "May Allah protect you from accidents and troubles".
The answer: sende
2- Allah Şifalar Versin: A phrase that is said to those who are sick. (May Allah cure you and get your health back.)
The answer: amin
3- Allah Razı Olsun: Used instead of "thank you", a person who receives a great favor from someone expresses his satisfaction with this favor using this phrase.
The answer: cümlemizm, hepimizden
4- Allah zihin açıklığı versin: Said to a person studying / preparing for the exam
