The Lighthouse and the Ship
The sea was wide, the night was dark. A small ship was continuing on its way, struggling with the waves. The captain on the ship was worried. The compass had malfunctioned and the ship had lost its course.
A light appeared on the horizon. The captain was excited. Was it another ship? He took the telescope and looked. The light on the horizon was a lighthouse! The captain breathed a sigh of relief. The lighthouse showed the ship the way to a safe harbour.
The ship captain corrected his course and followed the lighthouse light. The lighthouse became a beacon of hope in the dark night. The ship arrived at the port safely in the morning.
The captain went ashore after tying the ship to the port. He wanted to see the lighthouse keeper. An old man was standing in front of the lighthouse. The captain approached and thanked him. “The lighthouse always guides the lost,” the old man said with a smile.
